Screening for High Blood Pressure in Ohio's FQHC Dental Practices: Making It Work!

Screening for High Blood Pressure in Ohio's FQHC Dental Practices: Making It Work!

One of the goals at OACHC is to fully integrate Oral Health with Primary Care by having our dental centers incorporate blood pressure screenings into their daily routines. As a partner in patient-centered care, screening patients for hypertension is an important service that oral health professionals can provide for their patients. Taking a patient’s blood pressure in the dental chair is easily done while educating the patient on the risks and appropriately referring them to their physician. It can be done by the dental assistant while preparing the patient to be seen by the dentist.

Join our panel of experts as we kick off “Screening for High Blood Pressure in Ohio's FQHC Dental Practices: Making It Work!”- A partnership between Ohio Dental Association and Ohio Association of Community Health Centers.

This webinar will cover:
- Demonstrate the positive impact blood pressure screening can have on identifying and effectively managing patients with hypertension.
- Understand how dental anesthesia effects blood pressure in patients.
- Validate the feasibility of assessing blood pressure among patients and making appropriate referrals for intervention.
- How to obtain materials at no cost to your health center
